Our Casa Program is a true Montessori environment that offers a tremendously rich experience in both English and French languages. Based on Maria Montessori’s philosophy that children learn by doing and through repetition, lessons are introduced in a concrete way and are repeated, through three period lessons, to help the child thoroughly understand the concepts introduced. The children learn through activities that involve exploration, manipulation, order, repetition, abstraction, and communication. Learning is accomplished in an atmosphere that encourages creativity and independence, while always keeping in mind that children need to enjoy the experience of learning.
The classroom is equipped with learning materials that cover all areas of learning – practical life exercises, sensorial education, mathematics, language, cultural education, music, French, and art.
Casa accepts ages from 3-6 years old.
Our French program is introduced at the Casa level. The program strongly promotes an appreciation for French. At this level, the primary focus is on oral language. Children are encouraged to talk in French language with the French speaking teacher throughout the Montessori day. Daily lessons are presented naturally, humorously, imaginatively, and with limited English usage. Reinforcing Montessori principles, vocabulary is introduced using concrete items. Stories, rhymes, mime, games, songs, art activities and puzzles are integral to the program. Correct habits for pronunciation are instilled.
